Emmanuel Christian School of Grand Bois UPDATE

Emmanuel Christian School of Grand Bois has the third largest enrollment of all our schools with nearly 400 students and more than 20 teachers and staff. As students finish up their school year this month they eagerly anticipate the day they can enter their new school building.

Today classes take place inside the Emmanuel Christian Church as well as a long and narrow school building made out of tin. In the fall of 2019, construction began on a new school building and by early 2020 great progress had been made with the completion of the foundation, footers, and rebar for future walls.

The teachers and staff at the school are just as excited and continue to faithfully persevere through waiting for their new building to be completed. When talking with the staff about the importance this new school building will have and the difference it will make, they all agreed it would promote a better learning environment.

“We are so excited to have a nice building so students are more comfortable.”
-Paynard Arnold, 6th grade teacher

“If it is built, students will be more comfortable to learn and it will be easier to teach them.”
-Jean Paul, 5th grade teacher

“It will be important because the ground will be dry and warmer in the new school. This would make it more inviting for visitors as well.”
-Maison Luckner, 4th grade teacher

“It will be important to have separate classes to promote better learning for students with less distractions. It will also be great to have a bathroom. The washroom is too far for the little ones.”
-Prophet Eline, Preschool teacher

“It will be important for the kids to be in separate rooms so they can learn better. They won’t have other distractions.”
-Louis Santia, 1st grade teacher

Every child deserves a comfortable classroom in which to learn. A classroom with walls and dry ground free from mud. Our hope is to begin construction on the next phase of the Grand Bois school so these amazing teachers and students don’t have to wait anymore!
