The Light Project: Update

In April, we intentionally focused on encouraging our children through the introduction of The Light Project. Our goal is to provide an inflatable solar light to each of our Every Child students in 2016. Because most Haitian homes do not have electricity, once the sun goes down at night, our students have a hard time getting their homework done. In Peredo, you can find some of our children huddled underneath the few solar light poles along the road, finding just enough light to do their work.

In just a few weeks, we’ve received a great response!

We raised enough to send over 540 lights to our students! The first 230 lights are going in with our first summer team in a few weeks, and we are ordering more to send with other summer teams. Some churches are raising money for lights through their VBS, and others are sharing the need with their small groups and friends. We are grateful for your partnership to share the Light of the World through solar lights. You can learn more, view photos, and watch our Light Project video on our blog.
