Prayer Stations Built on Peredo Campus
In October, the Outlook Christian Church team went to Haiti with the express purpose of praying for and with our Haitian friends and the ministry of HCO. Some of their activities included:
- Praying with Pastor Matthew and leaders at Emmanuel Christian Church of Drouillard
- Holding 3 nights of prayer revival in Peredo
- Prayer walking in Peredo and Kapotyer
- Leading school children in prayer activities in Kapotyer and Grand Bois
- Building 5 prayer stations around the Peredo campus for Haitians and Americans to use
We are so excited about this new prayer tool on campus that weaves prayer further into the fabric of our mission, relationships, and ministry opportunities. As new teams prepare to serve in Haiti, we want you to go ready to spend time at these prayer stations, perhaps individually during your daily devotion time, or perhaps as a group during evening devotions.
The 5 new prayer stations include prayer prompts around the themes of adoration, confession, thanksgiving, spiritual warfare, and extreme prayer. Each prompt includes Creole and English words, scriptures, and/or instructions.
Adoration Station
I will extol the Lord at all times; his praise will always be on my lips. (Psalm 34:1)
On the wall near the hospital entrance, you will be encouraged to spend some time adoring and worshipping God for who he is. You’ll find some characteristics of God painted on two of the columns and some verses from Psalm 34 in Creole.
Confession Station
If we claim to be without sin, we deceive ourselves and the truth is not in us. If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness. (1 John 1:8-9)
Near the three crosses by the apartments, you will be prompted to spend some time confessing to God anything on your heart and leave your sins at the foot of the cross.
Thanksgiving Station
Give thanks to the Lord, for he is good; his love endures forever. (Psalm 107:1)
On the wall of the generator building, you will have the opportunity to spend some time thanking God for what he has done. Painted on the wall are several things to prompt your prayers.
Spiritual Warfare Station
Submit yourselves, then, to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you. (James 4:7)
Out near the soccer field, on one of the posts, you can pray through the armor of God, preparing yourself for spiritual battles you may encounter or be involved in already. May we always be ready to give an answer and bring salt and light to others.
Extreme Prayer Station
Again, truly I tell you that if two of you on earth agree about anything they ask for, it will be done for them by my Father in heaven. (Matthew 18:19)
In the gazebo, you will be encouraged to spend time praying bold prayers and interceding for others’ needs. If desired, you can write requests on the cards provided and hang it on the ribbons. Others will be invited to pray over the needs shared here.
