Celebrating Weddings and Baptisms in Haiti
Weddings are a beautiful celebration in Haiti but they are especially beautiful when followed by a baptism. That’s exactly what happened recently at Emmanuel Christian Church in Peredo. RoRo tells about the occasion!
Recently, on July 11th, Emmanuel Christian Church in Peredo celebrated three couples who had decided to unite their destiny into marriage. Just like we did in Belle Anse in March, where we performed six weddings of couples who had been living together but were reached with the preaching of the Word and decided to be baptized and become active members of the church, the family of God.
Among those who were married in Peredo was Relianne who has been working in our campus kitchen specifically cooking for our medical staff at Peredo Community Hospital. Relianne had accepted the Lord some time ago. She never miss church but had problems becoming active in church activities since she wasn’t married and living together with a man for whom she gave birth to seven children. But after a series of sermons on Family by Pastor Jacquelin Jean Baptiste, she decided to invite her partner to church one Sunday. And after that the man kept coming with her to the church and decided to give his life to Christ. Relianne, who always wanted to sing in the choir asked us if we could help them with their wedding since they were not able to afford the expenses. The church took that in charge and last Saturday they were married. Then on Sunday morning they were baptized with two other couples who were in the same situation. Please let us rejoice with them like the angels in Heaven.
We love celebrating and rejoicing with our brothers and sisters in Haiti! The Gospel message changes lives and makes families stronger. We are grateful for the witness of RoRo and Eline and our eight pastors including Pastor Jacquelin Jean Baptiste in Peredo who have dedicated their lives to preaching the Word and sharing the Truth with all generations.
