FROM BOARD CHAIRMAN: We Need YOU Now More Than Ever
When RoRo and Eline Eustache accepted God’s call to preach the gospel, they followed a guiding principle: to do something for Haiti that would last. God has made that dream a reality, and it continues to bear fruit today.
I wonder if you’re like me and miss going to Haiti. I treasure the memories of sunrises in Peredo, worship in Kapotyer, the beautiful views in Gran Bois, and the ocean at Belle Anse. I remember the smiles and joy of Haitian friends as we sat, talked, and prayed together. Over the years, God has used Haiti to shape my heart and soul. I’ve heard similar stories from many of you, HCO’s treasured partners.
HCO was never intended to create work opportunities for Americans in Haiti. That may have been how many of us were first drawn in, but the dream was always to do something lasting by equipping and empowering Haitians to lead and serve one another. RoRo, Eline, and the Haitian leaders set out not to rely on our presence but to benefit from our partnership. For 40 years, you have PRAYED and given GENEROUSLY for moments like this. Every gift and every prayer has helped build something resilient, something strong, something that endures.
Now, as many of us are unable to travel and serve alongside our friends, we see the benefit of that long-standing partnership. God is using the years of equipping and preparation to bring a harvest for His glory. Still, men and women are hearing of God’s love and the resurrection of Jesus and are choosing to become disciples. Boys and girls are still receiving an education and are being prepared to lead in their churches and communities. The work continues and, in many ways, it thrives.
Your ongoing partnership—through PRAYER and GENEROSITY—is making a real difference. Each month, your giving makes it possible for people like Pastor Jaqueline to care for the church in Peredo and support surrounding churches and leaders. It helps teachers continue to teach children despite the many obstacles they face. Doctors and nurses at the Peredo Community Hospital can care for the sick and hurting when no other options exist. God is being glorified through the faithful service of Haitian Christians, and you are partnering with them in this work.
So I encourage and challenge you to continue praying and to give generously. This is a crucial time for our Haitian friends. Every month, we’re able to pay the salaries of our Haitian staff at the church, the school, and the hospital—your gifts feed families, keep them in their homes, and allow them to support themselves with dignity. The time will come when larger projects are possible again. But right now, your consistent giving is more than financial support—it is LOVE shared. Many of our Haitian friends feel rejected by the world and isolated in their struggles. Your support reminds them they are seen, loved, and cared for.
Knowing the need and opportunity in Haiti, would you consider revisiting your current giving to HCO? Are you willing to increase your gift for the next six months as a way to rally with our Haitian friends? Let 2025 be a year when God builds His church even more in Haiti through the faithful work of our brothers and sisters. Let’s stand together and remind Haitian disciples that we are with them in heart and soul.
Pursuing God’s One More,
