Home Again: RoRo & Eline Return to Haiti After Nearly Two Years
After nearly two years away, RoRo and Eline returned to Haiti in May for a month-long visit filled with ministry, encouragement, challenges, and hope. For the first time since 2024, they were able to walk the Peredo campus, meet face-to-face with staff and ministry leaders, worship with churches, evaluate projects, and witness firsthand both the needs and the incredible resilience of the Haitian people.
Their return came during a difficult season. Ongoing gang violence and instability, particularly in the Seguin region, have affected many communities connected to the ministry. Yet throughout their time in Haiti, RoRo and Eline found countless reminders that God continues to work through the faithful efforts of the Haitian staff, churches, schools, and hospital teams.
A Joyful Homecoming

RoRo and Eline arrived safely in Les Cayes before making the long journey to the Peredo campus. For Eline, the experience was emotional.
“Home sweet home,” she shared after arriving.
Their return was a complete surprise to many. Staff, students, church leaders, and community members were overwhelmed with joy to see them. Several shared how much encouragement it gave them simply knowing RoRo and Eline were back on campus, walking alongside them and participating in daily ministry once again.
Throughout the month, they spent time meeting with staff, administration teams, school leaders, hospital personnel, nursing students, church leaders, and community members. One theme emerged repeatedly: their presence mattered.
Celebrating 41 Years of Ministry

One of the highlights of the trip was a special celebration marking the ministry’s 41st anniversary.
During the event, RoRo and Eline were surprised with a plaque recognizing their faithful service and leadership over the past four decades. Their work has helped build churches, educate children, provide healthcare, train leaders, and strengthen communities throughout Haiti.

The anniversary celebration was combined with Nurses’ Appreciation Day and drew nearly 200 attendees. Nurses received new scrubs, community leaders joined the festivities, and everyone came together to celebrate God’s faithfulness through the ministry.

Among those attending were local church leaders, the regional police inspector, banking officials, and members of the wider community.
Encouraging Signs Amid Difficult Circumstances

The security situation in Haiti continues to present significant challenges.
Schools and churches in Seguin and Grand Bois were temporarily disrupted due to regional violence. Families have been displaced, and many children remain uncertain about their future.
However, during their visit, RoRo and Eline witnessed encouraging signs of stabilization. Police forces continue to monitor the area, local markets have begun reopening, and some families are gradually returning home.
Food support and assistance continue to be provided to families affected by the unrest. In one instance, food was provided to an elder from Grand Bois who is helping care for seven people in his household. Even local police officers facing food shortages received assistance through the ministry.
Progress at Peredo Community Hospital

The hospital continues to serve as a beacon of hope for the region.
During the trip, RoRo and Eline met with nursing students completing clinical training, reviewed hospital operations, and held planning meetings focused on future growth and improvements.
Several exciting developments are already underway:
- The new ultrasound machine is fully operational.
- New office space has been established for hospital leadership.
- New curtains handmade by Eline were installed in the birthing room.
- Discussions are underway regarding hiring an orthopedic surgeon.
- Community health outreach efforts continue through regular open house events.
The ministry is also preparing for continued growth in healthcare services and infrastructure over the coming years.
Schools Continue Changing Lives

RoRo and Eline spent time visiting classrooms, meeting with students and teachers, and observing daily school activities.
One memorable day was report card distribution. Students anxiously peeked through windows and openings in the walls while waiting for parents to receive their report cards. The mixture of nervousness and excitement brought smiles to everyone watching.
The schools continue to face challenges, including a need for additional desks and facilities. Yet the impact of education remains clear.
Building for the Future

Throughout the trip, leadership spent considerable time discussing future ministry priorities.
One major project is the reconstruction of the depot, which has suffered years of damage from storms and flooding. The foundation has now been completed, and work is moving forward as resources allow. Once finished, the depot will provide much-needed storage and operational space to support ministry activities across the region.
A Growing Ministry Through Radio

Another exciting development is the continued expansion of the ministry’s radio outreach.
The radio station serves as a powerful tool for:
- Sharing the Gospel
- Broadcasting sermons and biblical teaching
- Providing health and hygiene education
- Communicating hospital information
- Supporting educational initiatives
- Delivering emergency information during times of crisis
In regions where travel and communication can be difficult, radio remains one of the most effective ways to reach entire communities with both practical information and the hope of Christ.
Thank You for Praying
As RoRo and Eline returned safely to the United States, they carried home stories of faith, perseverance, and hope.
This trip was a reminder that while circumstances in Haiti can be difficult, the ministry continues moving forward. Churches are ministering. Students are learning. Patients are receiving care. Leaders are planning for the future. Lives are being transformed.
Most importantly, God continues to work.
Thank you for praying, giving, and standing with Haitian Christian Outreach. Your partnership makes every one of these ministry efforts possible.
How You Can Help
