DOING SOMETHING IN HAITI THAT WILL LAST – NONPROFIT DAY 2023

“DOING SOMETHING IN HAITI THAT WILL LAST.”

This is the mission of Haitian Christian Outreach summed up in one statement. It is the word God spoke into RoRo and Eline’s hearts back in 1985. Since then, they have been equipping generations and communities of Kingdom leaders through planting ten churches; the education of 1600 students per year; working alongside community leaders to assess and satisfy needs such as clean water and economic growth opportunities; and by providing healthcare through one of the largest hospitals in the southeast of Haiti.

As you can see, “doing something in Haiti that will last” is more than putting a building somewhere. The central focus of all pillars of ministry through Haitian Christian Outreach starts with, and is fueled by, the desire to share the Good News of the Gospel of Jesus Christ with everyone we encounter. Our ministry leaders seek out, commune with, mentor, and foster the growth of those who need to witness the love of Christ! All while discipling those in the church, schools and hospital. To “do something in Haiti that will last,” means we commit to love God and love people through ALL we do.

What does this look like for you, our partner in mission? How do we show our commitment to love God and love you through our actions? One example is through the way we steward the provisions God is making available through you. When you partner with HCO through financial support, it is our commitment that 100% of gifts allocated to Health Care, Education, and Disaster Relief go directly to serve those on the ground in Haiti. In order to responsibly continue the mission for years to come, 15% of all other designated donations, is shared with the General Fund, providing for the overhead expenses of the organization. Additionally, if a project is fully funded and there is a generous overflow of support, through careful consideration, assessment and communication, the additional funds are used where needed most.

Despite the inability to travel with our partners to Haiti at this time, the work continues! And there are ways you can still be involved and support our brothers and sisters in Haiti as they strive to love God and love people, remaining true to their commitment to Do Something in Haiti that Lasts! So, HOW YOU CAN YOU PARTNER WITH HCO AND SERVE FROM RIGHT WHERE YOU ARE?

  • $10.00 per month assists a mother in paying for her, or her child/children’s, healthcare visit and needs.
  • $25.00 per month toward the Healthcare Fund will allow us to purchase the fuel needed to run the generator when performing surgery. The main functions of the hospital requiring electricity are powered through our solar system. It is only when surgery is performed that we must run the generator. Future plans for additions to the solar system will remedy this, but for now, a one hour surgery (a C-Section for instance) requires 10 gals of diesel. Fuel prices can range from $25.00 to $50.00 per gal by the time it reaches the southeast of the country.
  • $30.00 per month is a commitment to playing an active role in our student’s lives! TAKE A SEAT IN A CLASSROOM through the Classroom Sponsorship, providing a classroom full of children the opportunity to grow and thrive through State and Bible curriculum in a Christ-centered environment. In addition to the education, your gift provides a meal each day these classrooms are in session. For the 3 million mal-nurished children (per UNICEF reports) across the country, this is vital. Your commitment also assists in providing Professional Development for the dedicated teachers of these classrooms. And your recurring gift assists the ENTIRE CLASSROOM of children to move forward in their education each year!
  • $50.00 per month to the General Fund “keeps the lights on”, as they say! This gift goes directly toward the overhead of the mission, including but not limited to, compensation for the HCO team, travel arrangements to and from Haiti for Ro and Eline, travel to and from partner locations, as well as all other administrative expenses.
  • $5, $10, or $15 per month to WHERE NEEDED MOST allows us to prayerfully assess and consider stewarding to those areas of the mission that are in most need.

With each gift you provide, we ask that you pray for the day we can all once again travel to beautiful Haiti to rejoice with our brothers and sisters in what God is doing through them! This is how YOU can join in the commitment to DO SOMETHING IN HAITI THAT WILL LAST, right from where you are!
