Pastor Appreciation Month: Honoring the Pastors Who Serve Faithfully
October is Pastor Appreciation Month, and it gives us a special opportunity to honor the pastors who faithfully serve their churches, families, and communities.
At Haitian Christian Outreach, we are deeply grateful for the pastors who lead out Emmanuel Christian Churches throughout Haiti. Their ministry requires faithfulness, courage, and perseverance, especially in seasons when circumstances make ministry more difficult.
Yet, they continue to serve.
They continue to preach the Word of God, care for their congregations, and point people to the hope we have in Jesus. Their faithfulness is helping create places where people can gather, grow in their faith, and hear the Gospel.
A Church That Continues to Grow

A few years ago, destruction and safety concerns forced us to leave our previous location. Our church and school eventually found a new home in a rented building in an area that has now been deeply affected by gang activity.
Despite the challenges surrounding them, the church has continued to grow.
What was once just a single weekly service has now grown to two weekly services as more people come through the doors. Week by week, people are gathering to worship, hear God’s word, and encourage one another.
It is also a testimony to the faithfulness of the pastors and leaders who continue to serve the church during difficult circumstances. They are shepherding people in a place where hope can sometimes feel difficult to find, reminding their congregation that Jesus remains our hope regardless of what is happening around us.
The circumstances have not stopped the church from moving forward.
A Place for the Church to Gather

The same building that serves as the home of our Port-au-Prince Emmanuel Christian Church also houses our PAP Emmanuel Christian School. It has become a place where the Church can gather, children can learn, and the Gospel can be shared.
As we celebrate Pastor Appreciation Month, we want to recognize the pastors who faithfully lead our Emmanuel Christian Churches and congregations entrusted to their care.
We thank God for their service and for the people who continue to come, worship, learn and grow.
Supporting the Church’s Continued Growth
As this church continues to grow, we have an important need before us. Maintaining our current building requires a significant yearly rental expense, and we are asking our HCO family to prayerfully consider helping us meet this need.
Your gift will help us maintain a consistent place for the Port-au-Prince church and school to continue serving the community.
More than supporting a building, you are helping make space for people to worship, children to receive a Christ-centered education, and a growing church to continue pointing people to Jesus.
Would you consider making a gift to support this ministry?
