Food Aid Arrives

We have LOTS of photos and a video to share, so be sure to scroll to the end!

On January 30, 2017, two trucks of food arrived at our Peredo campus. Our partners – IDES, Lifeline, and 2|42 Community Church – have provided food to meet hunger needs in the aftermath of Hurricane Matthew.

Our crew stored the food temporarily in a container on campus. But it didn’t stay there long!

Two main factors have made food extremely expensive since last fall: 1) all of the hurricane-destroyed family gardens, banana trees, and other farm crops, and 2) the economic impact from the political situation. Everyone has been impacted by the increased inflation.

Last week (1-30-17), we were able to use some of the delivered food to restock all of our schools. This truck is being loaded with food that was taken to our schools in Grand Bois and Seguin.

This week (2-6-17), we did a food and solar light distribution in Kapotyer. RoRo and our church leaders organized those in the community:

And we loved seeing these photos of our Peredo students enjoying lunch:

We are grateful for all of those in the US who helped pack, prepare, and ship the food.

We are grateful for those who have donated money toward The Light Project.

We are grateful for our team in Haiti that is helping distribute the food and lights.

And in all things, we are grateful to God for his provision!
