A POWERFUL WEAPON IN HAITI

WHAT NEEDS TO CHANGE:

Today the majority of Haitian children do not have access to a quality education. We are on a mission to change this statistic. Educated children are the future of Haiti. You may be asking, why do children not have access to education in Haiti? For most families, its cost prohibited. The average Haitian only makes $2.60 a day and therefore cannot afford the annual tuition fees. Sadly, 30% of children attending primary school will not reach the 3rd grade and 60% of students will abandon school before the 6th grade for reasons not limited to the children being of age to help the family earn money. 

WHEN TO MAKE THE CHANGE:

The answer is NOW! During this current, unstable state of the country, the gangs are recruiting young children to join their ranks in exchange for food, safety, sense of family and belonging. Education in the Emmanuel Christian Schools is keeping these kids in the classroom and off the streets, away from the gangs. When you sponsor a child, you are using the most powerful weapon of change to change the life of one of these children, their family, their community and ultimately, their country. 

When you send a student to one of our six schools, not only are we able to educate them, but we are able to evangelize, empower, and encourage each student. We are raising up the next generation to be able to lead, parent, pastor, and teach the next generation of believers. Educating children is a crucial step in doing something in Haiti that will last! Our students are able to stay in school where they are being influenced in a positive way, within a Christ-centered environment. They are being educated by teachers and cared for by administrators who value the importance of education because they were once students in our schools! They have first hand experience of the change it made in their life and they are now helping to make that change for others.

HOW TO BE THE CHANGE:

Your support helps educate nearly 1,600 students each year. Because of you, we are able to provide them a high quality education. Because of you, we are able to feed them a meal each day at school. A meal that many of them will portion off to take home and feed siblings. Because of you, we are able to employ more than 140 teachers and staff, giving them the training they need to help provide each student an excellent education.
